Recommended by my optician who advised I get it from Amazon as it’s way cheaper than he sells it at the practice. Been using it for some time and like all supplements I’m not sure if it’s actually done anything but I’ll carry on

Firstly I tried 5 chemists & opticians in town & they either didnt stock it & some hadnt heard of it & some didnt stock
the gold version – I couldnt believe it. As usual Amazon came up trumps & delivered next day ( Saturday)
I have wet AMD in one eye & possibly dry in the other eye which is the reason I am taking Macushield to delay progress of the dry eye. I have been taking it for a number of years & do think it has helped. I regularly test my eyes by reading the Amster grid to see any changes. I think it’s a brilliant product but would like to take just one tablet not three.

Although this is expensive I take this as the hospital recommend it as a supplement for healthy eyes.

It would be nice if they make the dose one pill instead of three.

I got 90 tablets all Macu Shield Gold and I would like to make it clear that is the product I give 4 stars to. When I pressed to give feedback on my order it brought be to this page and it does not appear to be the same product. The photo of the box shows clearly it is the lesser 30 tablets Macu Shield plus 60 Gold vitamin tablets, which means taking 3 per day. I can see that customers feel confused and some are not getting why they thought they had ordered. I might well go back to straight Macu Shield as Im not sure I need the zinc, Vit C, Vit E and copper that the “gold” designation infers.
I could tell a bit of a difference after about a week so Im going to keep taking them. I have noticed the benefits in my night vision and see more colours and depth of colour now after dark – useful for the coming Winter.
Recommended daily dose for lutein (10mg) / zeaxanthin (2mg) / (10mg) meso-zeaxanthin. However “recommended” is a bit of a misnomer as these are not national recommendations, just statements of what was used in the AREDS 2 trials. I didn’t give it 5 because I think it is a bit too expensive. Have a look at the links below if you want a bit more info.

From the moment I stumbled upon MacuShield Gold, I was intrigued by its promises of supporting eye health with its fortified Lutein formulation enriched with essential vitamins and minerals. As someone who values my eyesight and wants to ensure its longevity, I eagerly purchased a 30-day pack of this supplement. However, my optimism soon turned into disappointment as I endured a disheartening experience with MacuShield Gold, leaving me with no choice but to give it a critical 1-star review.

Upon receiving the product, I was pleased to find that it was gluten-free and not tested on animals, two factors that aligned with my values as a consumer. The packaging, a blister pack containing 90 softgel tablets, seemed quite sturdy and was easy to store. But alas, appearances can be deceiving, and I soon discovered that the contents within did not live up to my expectations.

MacuShield Gold’s primary selling point was the combination of Lutein, Vitamin E, Zinc, and Copper, which supposedly worked synergistically to maintain normal vision and protect cells from oxidative stress. On paper, this seemed like a powerhouse of ingredients that could potentially benefit my eye health. However, after using the supplement diligently for several weeks, I noticed a disturbing trend – my vision was not improving as I had hoped. Instead, I felt that my eyesight had taken a turn for the worse.

The prolonged use of MacuShield Gold left my eyes feeling strained and fatigued, with an unsettling tendency towards blurry vision. It was a perplexing and worrisome development, as I had taken great care to follow the recommended dosage and integrate this supplement into my daily routine. I had hoped for gradual improvements, but the reality was quite the opposite.

The size of the capsules also posed a problem. Measuring 15 mm x 8 mm, they were larger than the average supplement pill, making them difficult to swallow comfortably. While I understand that certain ingredients might require more significant capsule sizes, it was still an inconvenience that affected my willingness to continue using the product.

As for the touted collaboration with leading eye health experts, I couldn’t help but question the validity of such claims. If professionals were indeed involved in the development of MacuShield Gold, why did it not have the intended positive impact on my vision? I could not shake the feeling that I had been misled by lofty marketing claims, only to be left with worsening eyesight.

At 0.1 kilograms, the weight of the product was not a significant concern, but its lack of efficacy overshadowed any convenience in its physical attributes. Even the presence of Vitamin E, known for its potential benefits in protecting cells from oxidative stress, failed to offset the disappointment I experienced with MacuShield Gold.

Furthermore, I found the lack of transparency regarding the actual source of the Lutein in the supplement disconcerting. Without knowing the precise origin and quality of this critical ingredient, it was challenging to trust the product’s overall effectiveness.

In conclusion, my experience with MacuShield Gold has been undeniably negative. Despite the promising combination of Lutein, Vitamin E, Zinc, and Copper, it did not deliver on its claims of improving eye health. On the contrary, my vision seemed to deteriorate during the period I used the supplement. The inconvenient capsule size, lack of transparency, and questionable collaboration claims only added to my disappointment.

I cannot in good conscience recommend MacuShield Gold to others seeking genuine support for their eye health. Instead, I would advise anyone considering this product to explore alternative options and consult with eye health professionals to make informed decisions about their well-being. As for me, I will be seeking a different solution for my eye health needs, hoping to find a supplement that truly lives up to its promises and fosters positive results.
