These are pricey, but worth it because they have stopped my scalded finger from getting infected. The blister on my scald popped, so I needed something to cover it with, and regular plasters just weren’t doing the job. These are much cleaner, and much more comfortable. Unfortunately, you only get two size options, and the smallest size doesn’t fit amazingly well around my finger. They’re not easy to apply, either, because the adhesive is very strong and it will curl in and stick to itself if you aren’t careful. I applied the first one myself and did a terrible job, so it came off in the shower later in the evening. I asked my partner to help with the second one and it stayed secure for much longer. I like that I can still see the wound through the plaster, and I can see that it’s healing over after only a day.

No matter what I did these just wouldn’t stay on the skin. Wasted several as they wouldn’t unstick from the plastic film. The box was open and some were crushed inside the bag in the box. I think I got an old bad batch. Used cling film, germaline and then and aloe gel instead.

Burnt the top of my hand with hot fat , used these they help with pain -the fluid in them really helps with soothing the injury and the adhesion is very good, was able to do my manual job without them coming off. The burn healed within 10 days without and scaring—now keep a pack just incase anyone has a burn.

Overall I’m undecided though partly that’s because I’ve never had a similar sized burn before. Mostly this is a non-medical review. The small dressing is too small for my particular burn and the large dressing is unnecessarily large. A 5cm x 5cm dressing area would have been perfect. The pictograms on each wrapper are too small to read. It was not obvious how to open the wrapper. I used scissors on two large sizes before I noticed on the small dressing the silver side protruded. On the large dressing there is an unstuck part between back and front wrapper but it was not visible. If the description had not mentioned cooling I would not have been critical but the actual cooling only lasted a few seconds. These dressings are similar but may not be identical to thicker hydrocolloid dressings. The active part is thinner but it is a good feature that the wound is visible through the dressing unlike with thicker hydrocolloid dressings. So these dressings may suit if they are appropriate to the wound size. After trying other dressings I’d choose this because unlike similar but thinner dressings the dressing pad is not sticky.

Such a relief to have ordered this product to help ease the healing of a steam burn to my upper arm. The burn dried quickly creating a scab that broke and split as soon as I stretched out my arm. Showering caused most of the scab to soften and come away, whilst the remaining scab was catching on clothing. As soon as the plaster was applied (days after burning my skin) there was instant pain relief from the cooling gel and from softening the hardening scab pulling on the skin around the burn. I applied the first plaster in a rush and not properly, so reapplied a fresh plaster a few hours later – already the wound looks less angry. The plaster has a protected cover on both sides. Remove just half of the cover of the side that attaches to the skin, and apply, then remove other half. Once in place remove the top cover, which is only there to keep the plaster rigid for application as it is micro thin. This makes it feel like a second skin and potentially very durable regardless of where you need to apply it.

Until I used these plasters my second degree burn was on the verge of infection. The moment I started using these the pain greatly reduced and I could visibly see the wound starting to heal. I’ve been using them for 2 weeks now and my hand feels so much better and what I thought was going to scar looks like it may not now – early days still but it looks and feels so much better. The adhesion is really good – all of mine have stuck fast for 4+ days and that’s with having daily showers, washing up, etc. – I’m not sure why others have had a problem? Take the backing for sticky side off first, stick to skin then take each top section off whilst pressing the sticky surround down again = no movement. Would definitely recommend and will make sure I always have these at home.
