GinSen Gan Mao Qing Re Natural Immunity Booster Tea, Relieves Cold, Fever, Flu, Cough, Headache, Sore Throat, Remedy, Made in The UK – 10 Sachets.

This is an old Chinese herbal remedy for coughs, I found this out after doing some research on the product!
It would help if there was some English instructions with it but no it’s all in Chinese I’m afraid to say.
I opened a sachet and put the granules into a cup and Poured on hot water, the granules dissolved well, I took a sip, oh my it tastes awful but if it does what it says I must persist and drink the lot! I had a cold at the time so I did persist and drunk the lot….. About a hour later the cough had completely gone and the headache you get with a cold had also gone, my nose felt less blocked, so this does the job well, just a shame the taste is so bad but some people may like the taste, but not for my taste buds!
I guess come winter I will need to use it again but I don’t mind if cures me, I will put up with the taste.
It contains lots of natural herby ingredients that strengthen the immune system.
Can recommend but I think it’s a little expensive.

About this tea, to me, i am pretty familiar with it as i grew up in a family believes Traditional Chinese herbs and tea. All the ingredients look great to me and it definitely helps. But i think the packaging and translation really need a bit more work. As I can read Chinese, and I am used to the package . To me, it is completely fine. I made this cuppa to ask my husband to have a try. He is English, but he found the licorice root too overpowering and too sweet. I explained to him that because they put Kuding tea in which supposed to be super bitter. They added sugar to balance the taste. However He feels the sugar is too much. I found this one is a great natural remedy. But it is not easy for westerners to accept the eastern natural remedy, especially there is no instructions in English. You may need a little brochure inside the box to explain which is which… and what do they do… There is no instruction or side effect it may have.. This will not sell very well if you can’t understand your different customer groups. Quality wise: this tea has very strong scent of the natural herb. It does help with my mild cough and tickling throat.

I received the tea via Amazon Vine.
At first I wasn’t sure if I was doing it correctly as these don’t come with instructions.
The tea comes in foil packages, cut one open carefully as I wasn’t too sure if I was cutting a bag. But then the tea was loose; not in a bag, so tipped them into my mug, poured boiling water into cup and noticed the tea dessolving; so thankfully I’d done it correctly. Had a sip, OMG….it was strong—not horrid strong—just powerful quick action strong….stopped me sneezing after half hour; I was suffering real bad with my rhinitis(annual hayfever) and my migraine attack suddenly went.
Even tho this is expensive tea, I MigHt purchase some…but only have it when I’m really really suffering.

Gave some to my daughter; she loves savory and hot spices, so obviously she loved this …

This has got quite a kick to the taste so be warned.

I have used this tea along with a very thick cough syrup from TCM, and also the supplement Xiao Yao which is also for flu/cold symptoms during a period of flu/headache and aches in the body. The tea surprisingly does not taste too bad, and brought me some additional relief. I have a stock in my cupboard as my go-to TCM remedies as preventatives and boosters when I feel support is required for the body. Would recommend.

I would have to be more convinced of the health benefits of this tea before I would try it again.

I have given it three stars to give it the benefit of the doubt, as I have heard very good things about this combination of ingredients for helping with cold symptoms (something I suffer from frequently). However, I confess I couldn’t bring myself to drink more than a few mouthfuls.

The taste is very strong. It starts out overpoweringly sweet, but then has a bitter aftertaste, which was a very unpleasant combination. I would need to know it was definitely beneficial before putting myself through that taste again!

These teabags are suitable for vegetarians and are not comprised of tea leaves, instead the powder in the sachets are granules which dissolve when hot water is added which I felt made it much easier to make up the sachet and drink it without having to use a tea leaf straining device.

I suffer from a lot of sore throats and usually use over the counter cold tablets or hot drinks specifically for colds. I was surprised at how sweet this tea was as I was about to add some sugar to make it palateable, thankfully I took a sip first and was delighted at the sweet taste which was not overpowering at all. I have used 2 sachets a day for 3 days now and the tea actually does soothe a very sore throat.

The only drawback to this tea is the price, I don’t think £1.60 per sachet is very affordable.
