I’ve had Apple Watches in the past, but never really enjoyed them. Then I bought this and it’s perfect for what I need.
I’m not into any kind of outdoor climbing or diving, but from more of a tech person’s perspective I love it.
Nice, large, clear display, comfortable strap, it’s perfect.
If you’re on the fence about getting one, like I was then get it, you won’t regret it!

My first ever smart watch and it’s superb
I’ve large hands & forearms/wrists and it suits my size to a tee
Fitted it with the Ringke protective shell (ideal for when I’m training etc) & also fitted it with the Spigen EZ fit screen protector; both work faultlessly
It’s great for tracking my steps; when I’m training etc and it’s a comfortable watch to boot
I use the Ultimal straps as I find them the best for comfort and usability; the OEM Apple strap is safely in its box; at £100 a pop I don’t want to damage it/have to replace it when other decent straps are c£15!
Would highly recommend the watch if you’re in the Apple ecosystem like I am and a gadget nerd too 😉

Have had this for a few months now and am happy with my purchase. Battery life is so much better than my old series 6 and it’s also way more durable. The screen size is great and picture resolution is excellent. Great to have call ability on my wrist and the strap is also very comfortable and matches with any outfit – I got the black ocean band. To make it a better sports watch more compatible to Garmin you can download the WorkOutDoors app which has better mapping gps so you can follow routes. I use this watch mainly as communications and still use my Garmin for navigation on runs and for long long time battery. This watch easily lasts 2 days battery and for safety reasons I think everyone should own one

Overpriced but useful

Ignore the price and comparing the specs to the series 7 or 8. This watch is awesome and does everything you need it too. Yes it’s a bit on the chunky side but it’s no more in size than a Garmin Fenix. I would still use an Garmin Fenix when doing triathlon events as the buttons are much easier to use especially when under a time pressure. The Ultra is better for training as you have the large and clear display plus the easy to use music player. Performance feedback through the EarPods is great too. Additionally when out for a run you can leave your phone at home as you can receive calls etc through the watch.
The action button is great for starting a workout however you still have to press two buttons to stop. I would rather you could just press the action button again to stop or pause a workout. Over all I’ve found the difference price worth it comparing the Series 8. If you’ve been sat on the fence for ages like I was going over the spec sheets over and over again just go and try one on. The watch on your wrist will likely sell itself to you. If you can push to a Silver Link band as well it looks even better.
