I bought this on the understanding that it’s for sensitive skin. It dried my face out like a worn out prune! I am a 40yr old man and used my wife’s elemis face balm and I feel like a new man!
Buy Elemis fragrance free balm. Expensive but so worth it (£20 a pot per month X twice a day wash) for face prone to acne. Gives such smooth skin and no spots. Foam and gel dries skin out.

Genuine Hada Labo product, came in its original Japanese packaging. It arrived fairly quick too.
I absolutely love this cleanser. I switched to using it as Dr. Dray from YouTube had recommended this – I use it alongside their cleansing oil and together as a pair it works so good. It also leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft after each use which is rare as some cleansers can leave the skin tight and dry. This one doesn’t and I think it’s due to the fact it contains several types of Hyaluronic Acids.
My skin is sensitive and I have mild rosacea on my cheeks – it has never triggered this which I’m very happy about. I pin this down to it being fragrance and alcohol free. So I would recommend this to anyone who has that skin type. It’s a good product to start off with and it doesn’t sting my eyes either. Has a mild chemical scent but it doesn’t stick to the skin so when it’s dry you can’t smell anything.
You only need one pump to cleanse your face as a lot actually comes out. I love the fact you can buy a refill for this and keep reusing the bottle :). The bottle design is great, the pump is a good feature as it’s more hygienic and it’s good that it has a stopper making it suitable for travel purposes.
I have nothing bad to say about this product as it has made my skin even better. Price wise I’d say it’s reasonable as you can get a refill for it and the product does last long. For the effectivity of the product it’s definitely worth the money compared to other brands which have a higher price point. This is a great and cheaper alternative. Also, this is a Japan import so naturally, it will be a bit more costly than a local branded skin cleanser.
I generally recommend this product as it’s very effective yet gentle on the skin. The best thing about it is it doesn’t leave the skin dry and tight after each use :).

Perfect for the morning – doesn’t dry my skin and doesn’t irritate it either! I am loving this, I thought it wouldn’t last long but it has been 2 months and I still have more foam left. Not sure if it will work well with removing makeup but as a gentle cleanser to prep skin for skincare it is perfect!

I am unsure about this product. I have had this product for over a month and have been using it on and off and I have found it to be hydrating and dehydrating at times, I will explain why – if used minimally (as in using a little bit in the palms it won’t dry out the skin) as opposed to pushing down the pump all the way and using more product. This product seems to be clogging my pores and does not have the deep cleaning action that I would like. And plus it still dries out my skin. Please be wary that my skin is very sensitive and oily. However one recommendation I can make to those with my skin type is use a men’s deep cleaning wash and go for their moisture lotion. It is absolutely amazing and nothing comes close to offering you a light water like texture. That product will last you for ages as you will only need four drops.
If you get it you will know what I mean. This product will definitely be good with those with dry skin that doesn’t get clogged.

I have been loving the Hada Labo products, so decided to give this much reviewed face wash a go.
So first of all it is a wash, not a makeup remover. I use in the mornings or as a second wash after an oil cleanser to remove the last bits of makeup and oil at night.
I have very dry and sensitive skin that gets hyper sensitive in the winter. This does not sting my face or eyes and doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped, sensitised or tight. It is a pleasure to use and just feels lovely and creamy on my skin.
The pump bottle is solidly made, and easy to use. It also looks kind of cute. It does take a while to come from Japan, but well worth the wait and I will definitely be re-ordering more.
Note: I tried the Hada Labo Tokyo face wash that has been re-formulated to fall under EU regulations (in the red and white bottle), and found it to be horribly irritating and drying, not to mention a lot more expensive.

I have been using for almost a month and while it’s overall nice, it does dry out my skin slightly and cause it to peel in some areas. I need to use a good moisturiser afterwards and usually apply 2 layers for it. However, it’s winter and cold & windy where I am so maybe that’s why it’s more drying than I expected. I’m healing from a breakout from Cerave right now and was looking for a gentle cleanser – this didn’t make it better but didn’t make it worse either so I’m not complaining.
It has a weird, sort of unpleasant scent which probably is a result of it not having any fragrances, it’s not horrible so I can deal with it during that 1 minute I’m washing my face.
I have sensitive combination skin, 20 years old / female.
Will update, after another month or so, if anything changes.
Update: So I’m still using it, the 1st bottle lasted me about 4 months which is incredible, really. It’s still drying on my skin so now I only use it in the evenings after my oil cleanser. Overall, it’s a good product, unlikely to dramatically change your skin for the better but also won’t cause breakouts or irritation.
